Weather presenter steps behind MoonWalk Scotland

Meteorologist and weather presenter for Sky News Kirsty McCabe is urging people to defy the weather for the annual MoonWalk Scotland to raise money for breast cancer causes.

Thousands of men, women and children will take to the Capital's streets during the night of Saturday, 6 June for the 15th annual event organised by grant-making breast cancer charity Walk the Walk.

More than £133 million has been raised across the UK in the last 23 years by the organisation, and almost £22m has been raised in Scotland alone.

Starting at Holyrood, there will be four challenges available on the night – the New Moon for ages 10 and up (10k), Half Moon (13.1 miles), Full Moon (26.2m), and Over the Moon Ultra (52.4m).

Urging people to put their walking shoes on and for an unforgettable experience she said: “Rain or winds, sun or snow, whatever the weather it is a fantastic experience doing the moonwalk.

“I did Moonwalk in Edinburgh a few years ago and I still haven't forgotten it.

“If you are tempted at all, go for it. Do it, you will not regret it whatever the weather.
