Virus closes hospital ward

A HOSPITAL ward has been closed for the third time since September to prevent a virus from spreading.

The Willow Ward at Ferryfield House, Pilton, has been closed twice due to norovirus, and was closed again yesterday morning due to influenza.

Dr Alison McCallum, director of public health at NHS Lothian, said: “We have strict infection control procedures in place to contain any outbreaks, but visitors can make a big difference by washing their hands and not to coming into hospital if they are feeling unwell.”
