Tuberculosis scare at bar

REGULARS at a karaoke bar are to be tested for tuberculosis after a member of staff was diagnosed with the potentially fatal disease.

One drinker at the West End Bar in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, said: "I'm going to have to be screened. The staff are handing out leaflets to everyone they think might be at risk."

It is understood the member of staff being treated for TB had been admitted to hospital for another condition when the illness was discovered. She is still in hospital.

NHS Grampian is giving advice to the eight bar staff and the drinkers who came into contact with the woman between October and December last year.
