Surgeons facing investigation

TWO surgeons are facing medical watchdogs over allegations of serious mistakes made during a patient's gallbladder operation in which she lost more than five litres of blood.

Consultant surgeon John Cannon and general surgeon Lal Singh were working at Wishaw Hospital in Lanarkshire at the time of the surgery. The General Medical Council, sitting in Manchester, is investigating a series of concerns raised about the patient's operation in 2005.
