The Scottish actor, who stars as Jamie Fraser in the hit Starz series, is supporting Cahonas - a Scottish charity raising awareness of male cancer.

The animated film provides instructions on how to perform a self-check, with 35-year-old Heughan advising men to “get reintroduced to your buddies; checking them once a month.”

The charity hope the video will help lead to earlier diagnosis of testicular cancer - the most common form of cancer in men aged between 15 and 44 in the UK.

Since 1975, the incidence of testicular cancer has more than doubled in Scotland.

Cahonas Scotland chairman, Ritchie Marshall, said, “We’re delighted to have Sam on board as an official Cahonas Scotland brand ambassador. Sam has been a huge support to the charity and to have him voice the video was a real coup.

“His schedule is super hectic, but he was passionate about being involved and gave his time up freely.

“We’re delighted with the results and just hope men check out the video and, more importantly, check their testicles.”

Cahonas Scotland have launched the video to help raise awareness of the disease and to encourage men of all ages to self-check, with treatment testicular cancer can be 96 per cent curable, if the cancer is caught in the early stages.
