Nicola Sturgeon: Scotland coronavirus death toll at 172, up by 46

The death toll increased by 46 in the last 24 hours.

A total of 172 patients have died in Scotland after testing positive for coronavirus, up by 46 from 126 on Thursday.

Official statistics showed that 3,001 people had tested positive for the virus, up 399 on the previous day.

At a briefing today in Edinburgh, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said that 176 people were in intensive care with Covid-19.
