NHS wins fight on superbugs

SUPERBUGS in Lothians hospitals are continuing to fall, latest figures have shown.

Rates of both C.diff and MRSA are dropping all the time thanks to a series of hygiene measures introduced by NHS Lothian.

Statistics published by Health Protection Scotland revealed a nationwide improvement.

Health secretary Nicola Sturgeon said: "Patients can be reassured that we are continuing to see significant falls in the numbers of C.diff and MRSA cases."
