NHS board says sorry

THE health board today issued a public apology to Mr Piccini and revealed he has finally been offered an appointment at the department of restorative dentistry.

Referring to him as Mr C – as he was called in the Ombudsman’s report – Stuart Wilson, NHS Lothian’s director of communications, said: “We accept the recommendations in full and we have already put them into practice. As a result, Mr C has a new appointment to be seen at the Edinburgh Dental Institute and a full audit of practices is underway to ensure a similar incident does not happen again.”
