Kids’ transport theft: man held

A MAN has been arrested in connection with the theft of a specialist ambulance which takes sick children to hospital.

The brand new Subaru Forester 4x4 was taken from outside an on-call medic’s home. It takes youngsters to intensive care units in Glasgow and Edinburgh.Keys to the vehicle are thought to have been stolen after a break-in at a house in Renfrewshire.

A 35-year-old man is being held by police in connection with an alleged theft by house breaking. He is expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court today.

Police said the ambulance has not yet been recovered.
