Free grub in Dynamic Earth experiment

VISITORS to Dynamic Earth can discover if they are genetically programmed to favour fatty food by participating in a simple test by PhD students from Queen Margaret University.

“Goodness Gracious Grub!” is a free event featuring a series of interactive activities designed to show how people use various senses while eating. It will run during the half-term holiday this month.

Professor Isobel Davidson, said: “By simply placing a tab in someone’s mouth, we will be able to tell them if they are genetically programmed to favour fatty foods. We have developed palatable fishy snacks aimed at young children to boost Omega 3 in their diet, and we will be showing the swallowing process using ultrasound technology.” The event runs from October 18 to 21.
