Governments worldwide are continuing to highlight the dangers of coronavirus as it spreads across the globe, with powerful variants such as Delta continuing to usher in higher rates of transmission.
Countries such as New Zealand and the Cayman Islands have successfully managed to keep Covid rates in their nations low, with their smaller populations and harsher lockdown policies preventing the virus from spreading further through increased international travel.
But the same cannot be said for everywhere else.
The UK Government cut down its red list of high risk travel destinations to just seven countries in early October, with only a handful of countries now requiring quarantine hotel stays on return to the UK.
And as the US finally reopens its borders to UK travellers almost two years after former President Donald Trump banned UK and Schengen Zone travellers from entering the country, concerns over potential spikes in Covid cases as winter approaches are rising.
So far, the UK has seen a cumulative total of 9,333,891 coronavirus cases as of 8 November 2021.
Of these, an estimated 7,925,681 have been in England, 664,654 in Scotland, 459,325 in Wales and 284,231 in Northern Ireland.
But which countries have seen the highest Covid cases so far?
Here are the 10 countries with the highest cumulative Covid cases as of 8 November 2021, according to John Hopkins University’s Coronavirus Resource Centre.
