Watch: The Scottish woman social distancing in an inflatable dinosaur costume

An asthma-suffering Scottish woman who has been confined to her flat for nine weeks has ventured out in public for the first time since lockdown - wearing an inflatable dinosaur costume.

Pamela Livingstone, 38, bought the T-Rex rig-out to offer herself some protection from Covid-19.

With asthmatics advised not to wear facemasks, she has certainly found a unique solution, as the T-Rex costume acts as a "protective bubble" around her.

She told The Scotsman: "One of my friends who lives down in Suffolk is in a similar situation as me where she doesn't want to go out without protection, and she told me she had bought herself a stegosaurus outfit.

"I thought, 'oh, what a great idea', and I asked her to send me a link to where she got it.

"I went on Amazon and settled on the T-Rex costume, so now I've got a protective bubble."

After venturing outdoors for some exercise, Pamela, who works as a biology and science teacher at a Glasgow secondary school, says her new costume has put smiles on the faces of people in her neighbourhood.

"I actually can't see a lot out of it most of the time, but I've had a lot of lovely comments from people.
