Stunning photos show the Falkirk Wheel lit up in honour of the NHS

The Falkirk landmark joined in a nationwide celebration of front line workers.

For the third consecutive Thursday at 8pm, people across Scotland and the United Kingdom have shown their support for NHS staff and other key workers.

But this week’s “Clap for Carers” was marked by the inclusion of one of Scotland’s biggest landmarks.

Tens of thousands of people took to their doors and windows, in a round of applause, as the Falkirk Wheel was illuminated with a huge thank you message.

Tapestry AV and Scottish Canals joined forces to project the stunning image onto it.

Over the colourful background, a message read: “Thank you NHS - our heroes”.
