David Oliver agreed saying: “I’m no fan of hers but she needs a break if only for her own health .....no one should have to shoulder this pandemic on their own.”
Bryan Kerr recommended she pull out all the stops, adding: “What she and her family must need is a week in a cottage up north with good food and a big box of nice wine. Well done Nicola and all the team!”

Not everyone thought that she should take some time off, believing that the updates were just too important, with Helen McKerracher saying: “Definitely not. She’s doing a great job keeping Scotland well informed.”
Sharon Boles added: “No she shouldn't stop updating us all but I don't think she needs to be on TV every day.”
Amanda Grant said: “I think we should have more info from the Westminster Government” with Lynne Holman saying: “No, she’s doing fine although I think the first lockdown should have lasted slightly longer than it did so this wouldn’t escalate just after getting back to some normality.”
Blake Welsh wondered: “She has an entire government by her side yet she has to be at the forefront each day.
"Never understood it - perhaps she doesn’t trust her own cabinet to take centre stage.”
