The number of patients in hospital with confirmed or suspected coronavirus stands at 1,168 - 122 more than yesterday. The First Minister made clear that the majority of those new inpatients had suspected, rather than confirmed Covid-19. She said the number of people with confirmed coronavirus in hospital actually fell in the last 24 hours.

34 people are now being treated for the virus in Scotland’s intensive care units, an increase of seven.

Since March 5, 3,721 people treated in hospital for Covid-19 have recovered and been discharged.

It comes after the country officially entered the first phase of the Scottish government’s lockdown easing plan on Friday, allowing people to participate in outdoor non-contact sports like tennis and golf.

Some businesses have also been cleared to reopen, including most outdoor work, and some elements of fast food restaurants.
