Here are 12 countries with the highest daily Coronavirus case rates per 100,000 residents in the last seven days

As the UK Government eases international travel restrictions in time for the October half-term, here are some of the worldwide locations with the highest daily Covid rates.

The UK Government’s most recent travel update saw 47 countries removed from the UK’s red list of countries posing a high risk of contracting coronavirus.

The new international travel rules have seen the UK’s amber and green lists of destinations with limited Covid testing requirements ditched, while the high risk red list remains in force.

The UK red list for international travel is now limited to just seven countries in total.

But where are coronavirus cases rising worldwide? And are Covid cases spiking in destinations removed from the red list?

We looked at which countries had the highest daily new confirmed Covid cases per 100,000 people in the seven days to 7 October, according to data collected by the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
