“Many of our customers are over 70 and vulnerable, and like everyone else are struggling to get supermarket delivery slots, which are often booked up for weeks in advance. This is an incredibly difficult time for everyone and Wiltshire Farm Foods’ mission, ‘making a real difference’, has never been more important as many of our customers rely solely on us for their daily meals. Our whole team has rallied round to help.”
It has put in place social distancing measures – drivers have hand sanitisers and gloves – and delivery is completely contactless; but it is the little extras that are making a big difference.
Susan added: “The team has started including puzzle books in its deliveries, which have been hugely appreciated by customers, demonstrated by the many handwritten thank you letters the company receives on a daily basis.
“Our colleagues have been touched by the public’s response to them when out and about, often receiving praise and being told what fantastic work they are doing. Some customers are even clapping down the phone to the staff in the office.”
