French president Emmanuel Macron tests positive for coronavirus

France’s president Emmanuel Macron has tested positive for Covid-19, according to the French Presidency.

It is understood the French president will now isolate but will continue to work and carry out his activities remotely.

The brief announcement did not include details about Mr Macron’s symptoms.
