Coronavirus in Scotland: third Scottish death confirmed

A third patient has died in Scotland after testing positive for COVID-19, according to Nicola Sturgeon.

The First Minister also announced the total number of coronavirus cases in the country is now 227, an increase of 32 on Tuesday.

A full breakdown of the figures by health board area will be published at 2pm.

Sturgeon said that she cannot promise schools will reopen again before the summer.

Schools in Wales will also close.
