After facing initial criticism that the roll out was slower than other areas of the UK, Scotland’s vaccine roll out is now increasing in speed.
The army has been deployed to aid the roll out and mass vaccination hubs have been opened across the country.
12,866 have received their second dose of the vaccine.
On reaching the one million mark of those vaccinated with their first dose, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon tweeted: “One million people in Scotland have now had a first dose of Covid vaccine.
"Thanks to teams across the country delivering the jags, and to everyone who has rolled up their sleeve. There’s still a way to go, but together we can beat this virus. Let’s stick with it.”
