Coronavirus in Scotland: 32 new cases confirmed bringing the total to 227

A further 32 cases have been confirmed in Scotland bringing the total to 227, according to government officials.

The recent figures cover the cases diagnosed in the last 24 hours, the Scottish Government reports.

Currently the most affected area in Scotland is Greater Glasgow and Clyde with 57 cases.

Three patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the country have died.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced earlier this afternoon schools in Scotland will close at the end of the week.
