Coronavirus in Scotland: 15 new deaths recorded as the country confirms more than 1,000 cases

A total of 15 new Covid-19 related deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours as the country sees a rise of 1,456 cases since the day before.

Of these cases, 500 are in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, 393 in Lanarkshire, 198 in the Lothians and 116 in Ayrshire and Arran.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon confirmed 824 people are currently being treated in hospital with the virus, 70 more than yesterday, and 69 people are in intensive care, an increase of eight people from the day before.

So far, 49, 164 people in Scotland have tested positive for coronavirus.
