Coronavirus in Scotland: Nine people have died from the virus in the last 24 hours

The First Minister has released the latest statistics on coronavirus from her press briefing in St Andrew’s House, Edinburgh.

Ms Sturgeon announced that there are 1,196 new cases of coronavirus in Scotland.

There are 629 patients in hospital and 58 people in intensive care.

Tragically, nine people have died after testing positive for the virus.

Greater Glasgow and Clyde have 416 cases and Lothian have 161.

Shetland is the only area that does not have an positive cases.
