However, she stressed that although this is "very encouraging" it is common for fewer deaths to be reported at weekends and that there "almost certainly" would be further Covid-19 deaths in the days ahead.
Ms Sturgeon also revealed that a further 29 people have tested positive for the virus in Scotland since yesterday.

However, data released last week by the National Records of Scotland (NRS), which includes all deaths where Covid-19 has been mentioned on the death certificate, shows the death toll at 4,000 as of Sunday, June 7th.
Ms Sturgeon also said that a total of 870 patients are in hospital with suspected or confirmed cases (down 94), with 18 people being treated in intensive care (up three).
