Scotland’s National Clinical Director appeared on the BBC’s Good Morning Scotland on Tuesday morning.
When asked about whether the country would see some normality this year, Professor Leitch said that he was hopeful for ‘domestic normality’.

Hide AdHe explained that this was reliant on the continued vaccine roll out as well as the ability to keep different strains of the virus out of the country.
Domestic normality would allow restrictions to be dramatically loosened and everyday life return to something more familiar.
Professor Leitch added that it was unlikely that ‘global normality’ would also happen this year, although did not give any specifics on when international travel would be possible, and how it would look.
The First Minister will address Parliament on Tuesday afternoon to provide a rough outline for the country’s gradual exit from lockdown.
