Coronavirus in Scotland: Face coverings could be made compulsory in workplaces

Face coverings could be made compulsory in the workplace and indoor settings as scientific evidence supports claim that this will help stem the spread of Covid.

Speaking on Thursday morning’s Good Morning Scotland, Professor of Public Health Linda Bauld from the University of Edinburgh explained: “This virus spreads in three ways; direct contact with someone, droplets that we emit and airborne.

"It’s circulating in indoor air, then that means anywhere where we’re indoors for a while, in contact with people not in our household.”

Professor Bauld said that there was little use for people wearing masks outside, although if people are queuing out of doors, then face coverings would be wise.
