Coronavirus in Scotland: Covid cases across the country rise by 231 as three further deaths are reported

Scotland has recorded 231 new Covid-19 cases and three further deaths, according to the latest figures.

It brings the death toll under this daily measure – of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days – to 7,646.

A total of 224,596 people have now tested positive in Scotland up from 224,365 the previous day.

There are 93 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus, down 14 in 24 hours, and 12 patients are in intensive care, a decrease of two.

A total of 2,755,175 people have received their first dose of a coronavirus vaccine and 898,231 have received their second dose.
