Coronavirus in Scotland: 993 people have tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours

Nicola Sturgeon has announced the latest coronavirus statistics during her press conference held in St Andrew’s House, Edinburgh.

She reported that 993 people have tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

The Greater Glasgow and Clyde area has recorded 362 of these cases, Lanarkshire has recorded 294 and Lothian has 122.

There are 754 patients currently in hospital and 61 patients in intensive care.

Tragically, one person has died after testing positive for the virus.
