Coronavirus in Scotland: 800 new cases of Covid-19 confirmed in the last 24 hours

A total of 800 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the last 24 hour in Scotland, according to latest statistics by the Scottish Government.

The latest figures reveal that two new deaths have been recorded in the past 24 hours in Scotland, putting the country’s death toll at 2,532.

262 people are being treated in hospital with the virus as of today, October 6. This is an increase of 44 people from the figure reported yesterday.

To date, 25 people are being treated in intensive care with recently confirmed Covid-19, this is an increase of 3 people from the data reported yesterday.

The total number of coronavirus cases in Scotland is now at 33,706.

Of the new cases reported today, 303 were in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde area, 167 were in Lanarkshire and 164 were recorded in Lothian.

The remaining 196 cases were spread across nine other health board areas.
