Coronavirus in Scotland: 50 new Covid-19 deaths brings total to 1912

Fifty people in Scotland have died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, according to data released by the Scottish Government.

A total of 1,912 patients have now died in Scotland after testing positive for coronavirus, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said.

1,618 patients are in hospital with a suspected or confirmed case (up 165), with 81 being treated in intensive care (up one).

Ms Sturgeon said the increase of people in hospital is entirely in suspected cases, while there has been a decrease in confirmed cases of people in hospital with Covid-19.

3,167 people have been discharged from hospital after receiving treatment for the virus since 5 March.
