Coronavirus in Scotland: 484 new Covid cases recorded in 24 hours

A total of 484 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Scotland in the last 24 hours, according to government data.

The deaths were also recorded, however this number may be unusually low due to there being no registry offices open on the weekend.

To date, 461 people are being treated in hospital with recently confirmed Covid-19, and 40 patients are currently in an ICU with the virus.

The latest government data can confirm 1,888,697 people have received the first dose of the vaccination so far and 160,038 have received their second dose.

On Friday, Scotland saw the beginning of lockdown restrictions easing with outdoor meetings permitted to resume for up to four people from two different households.

Restrictions on young people also eased, with four people aged between 12 and 17 able to meet even if they are all from different households.

Outdoor non-contact group sports for people aged over 12 have also been able to resume as of Friday.
