Last month, the care home’s coronavirus response was rated as ‘weak’ in an inspection by the Care Inspectorate.

On October 26 inspectors found the cleanliness of the home a ‘significant concern’ in an unannounced inspection.

The report went on to claim the cleanliness of the home and the overall fabric of the building was ‘poor’ saying that inspectors were ‘very concerned about the potential risk of

infection for residents’.

Since the report was released, owners of the care home HC-One deployed maintenance staff to clean the home and said they were monitoring the situation closely.

Confirming the recent deaths at the home, a spokeswoman told the Daily Record: “Our thoughts and sympathies are with all families who have lost a loved one from coronavirus.

“Every loss is felt deeply by the families and our team, and we are doing all we can to support them during this challenging time.

“As we navigate this outbreak, we continue to work closely with all the relevant authorities to contain the virus and safeguard our residents.

"We are pleased that a number of residents have now recovered, and we continue to closely monitor the health and well being of all those affected.
