A total of 29,903 people in Scotland have been tested for COVID-19; of these 24,313 tests were confirmed negative and 5,590 tests were positive.

The death toll in Scotland has now reached 542.

Yesterday First Minister Nicola Sturgeon addressed the Easter weekend, urging Scots to continue to follow lockdown protocols.

She warned that the COVID-19 outbreak may “spread out of control" if Scots flout the strict lockdown which has been imposed to contain the virus.

The "vast majority" of Scots are complying with the lockdown measures, Ms Sturgeon said today at her daily Coronavirus briefing in Edinburgh and those who have broken the rules are a "tiny minority" of the population.
