Date released by the Scottish Government breaks down the number of positive covid-19 cases per 100,000 people, according to neighbourhood. The following list highlights the top 12 areas in Scotland with the highest number of coronavirus cases per 100,000 population over the course of seven days.
This data is from October 3 to October 9 2020.
Glasgow City remains the worst hit area with 248.6 cases per 100,000 people while at the bottom of the scale, and not included on this list, sits the Shetland Islands with only two new confirmed cases of coronavirus over this seven day period.

UK Government opening a walk-through coronavirus testing centre at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall. Mitie are running the facility on behalf of the UK Government. Members of the public will be able to walk in from 2pm this afternoon. Usher Hall Covid testing centrewill offer pre-booked tests for those with coronavirus symptoms. The new site is situated so as to be easily accessible without a car. Those being tested will be required to follow public health measures, including social distancing, not travelling by taxi or public transport, practising good personal hygiene and wearing a face covering throughout, including while travelling to and from the testing centre. Anyone attending an appointment at a walk-through testing will be provided with guidance on getting to and from the test site safely, with additional support for vulnerable groups and people with disabilities.
