BBC Scotland Nicola Sturgeon Briefing LIVE: What time is the update? How can I watch?

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is set to give her daily Coronavirus briefing today after she announced the results of the Scottish Government’s review of its tiered local lockdown system yesterday.

Most of the west of Scotland will be placed in level four lockdown as of Friday, following the First Minister’s announcement yesterday but when can we expect Ms Sturgeon to speak and what can we expect her to tell us today?

When is Nicola Sturgeon due to speak?

The First Minister is scheduled to speak at 12:15pm on Wednesday, November 18, during her daily coronavirus briefing at the headquarter building of the Scottish Government, St Andrew’s House.

What will Nicola Sturgeon say?

We can expect Ms Sturgeon to reinforce the new measures she laid out yesterday, which include putting 11 council areas into level four lockdown (Glasgow City, East Renfrewshire, Renfrewshire, East Dunbartonshire, West Dunbartonshire, North Lanarkshire, South Lanarkshire, East Ayrshire, South Ayrshire, West Lothian and Stirling) which means that all non-essential shops, bars and restaurants closing in these areas as of Friday.

Her announcement yesterday also led to East Lothian and Midlothian being moved down to level two so we can perhaps expect an update on what this will mean for these areas.

We can also expect the First Minister to address the new legal restrictions on moving between level three or four areas from Friday.
