Coronavirus in Scotland: the Lothians record 202 new cases in the last 24 hours as the country records 25 new deaths

The Scottish Government has confirmed that in the last 24 hours 202 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in the Lothians and 25 more people have died across Scotland from the virus.

In total, 1,327 new cases have been recorded across Scotland.

Of these new cases, 202 are in the Lothians, 454 are in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, 347 in Lanarkshire022 and 96 Ayrshire and Arran.

82 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed covid-19, this is a decrease of eight people from the day before.

1,100 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed coronavirus, 48 more than the figure reported by the First Minister yesterday.

The total death toll in the country stands at 2,726 after today’s 25 deaths.

So far, 59,201 people have tested positive for the virus in Scotland since the start of the pandemic.
