Coronavirus in Scotland: Death of baby girl is Scotland's youngest victim

A child under the age of 1 has become Scotland’s youngest victim of coronavirus, according to statistics.

The death of a child under the age of one due to coronavirus was recorded in the last week.

Information released by the National Records of Scotland show that the girl, who is the only victim under the age of 15, died between December 14 and 20.

The figures released show where coronavirus was mentioned on the death certificate.

It was one of 203 coronavirus deaths in Scotland over the last week.

Previously the youngest person whose death had been linked to coronavirus was 15.
