Coronavirus in Scotland: 92 more deaths recorded in the last 24 hours

The First Minister reported at her daily coronavirus briefing today that in the last 24 hours Scotland has seen another 1,330 people test positive for the virus and another 92 deaths have been recorded.

With the latest 1,330 cases, the total number of people who have tested positive for coronavirus in Scotland since the start of the pandemic is now at 175,332.

Of the latest positive cases, 394 were in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde health board area, 245 were in Lanarkshire and 135 were in the Lothians.

The rest were spread across the other health board areas in Scotland.

To date, 2,016 people are in hospital with the virus which is a rise of six from the figure reported yesterday.

145 people are currently in intensive care, which is a decrease of four from the figure reported yesterday.

Another 92 deaths have been recorded from coronavirus in the last 24 hours, which brings the total death toll in Scotland to 5,888.

By 8.30am today, 462,092 people had received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, this includes 56 per cent of over 80-year-olds living within the community.
