Care home the subject of police investigations after coronavirus deaths

Police Scotland has confirmed that they are investigating the circumstances around three deaths at Home Farm Care Home on Skye.

A police spokesperson said: "We can confirm we are investigating the circumstances of the deaths of three women, aged 84, 86 and 88, at Home Farm Care Home on Skye.

“Enquires are continuing."

The care home has seen ten residents die from the virus during the outbreak, and were the subject of a care inspectorate visit earlier this month, leading to NHS Highlands to intervene.

The police have also confirmed that they are investigating the Springvale Care Home in Lennoxtown, Glasgow, saying: “This investigation is not about any deaths at the home and is not related to Covid-19. Enquiries are ongoing and all relevant partners and families are being kept informed."
