A local non-profit organisation is offering private care at home, in and around the areas of Falkirk, Stirling and Callander.

Creative Homecare was launched in October 2020 and was awarded a grade five, ‘Very Good’, rating by the Care Inspectorate in its most recent inspection.

The social enterprise business, in partnership with Strathcarron hospice means that all profits go directly back into the running costs of the local Hospice.

Now, if you, a friend or a relative needs a little help or care in their own home, the friendly and reliable team at Creative Homecare can step in to help.

Margaret Foy from Creative Homecare said: “People are at the heart of everything we do. The majority of our customers just need a helping hand with their housework, or personal care, like showers or making a meal in the evening.

“People choose Creative Homecare as our care at home service is bespoke to their needs, but also because we support Strathcarron Hospice. As a non-profit organisation, we care about people across our community.

“We aim to provide the same standard of care that we would expect for our own families. This means valuing each person’s unique qualities and seeing them as an individual, not as a list of care needs. We work alongside families and individuals to tailor our services to help customers remain in their own homes and stay in control of their own care for as long as they are able.”

Healthcare with you at heart

Losing your independence and reaching the stage where you need assistance with personal care is a challenging time. However, the professional, respectful and helpful nature of Creative Homecare carers will help make this transition easier.

Margaret added: “We feel it’s important for a carer to spend time with each customer. Yes, the necessary tasks are important, but it’s the social aspect that’s crucial for customers. There is always time for a hot cuppa and a blether We believe that everyone should receive a rounded package of care, tailored to their individual needs.

“We also want staff to also have job satisfaction, to get the relevant training they need to feel confident in what they do. They’re also encouraged to build relationships with customers and colleagues, so that they enjoy their work.”

Services available

Many people we support simply want company and conversation or support to enjoy their favourite activities and attend appointments. Creative Homecare aims to prevent loneliness which can have serious effects a person’s health.

The Creative Homecare team will help with housekeeping, washing, shopping, help you organise your home the way you like it and ensure you enjoy a proper meal. They take time to understand your medical needs, collect your prescription if required, and prompt you to take the right medication at the right time.

Ongoing support

Margaret added: “We also understand the pressure caring for a loved one has on the family. Providing families and partners with respite which is good for both the care-giver and the person being cared for is vital. We offer short term break for holidays, weddings or funerals or some well-earned time out.

“Our care plans don’t have to be long term. If you have been in hospital or recovering from an accident, we will provide support to help you regain your confidence and independence and assist with daily tasks until you’re ready.
