Breastfeeding group raises glass to 20 years of support

A MIDLOTHIAN organisation that promotes breastfeeding is celebrating 20 years of supporting local mums.

Newbattle Breastfeeding Group group was established in 1992 and has provided help and advice to hundreds of mums over two decades.

The group is holding a 20th birthday party on Saturday and anyone who has attended in the past is welcome to join the party at Mayfield Leisure Centre between 2pm and 4pm.

Aileen Banks, health visitor and group leader at NHS Lothian, said: “We want to encourage mums to breastfeed and to support them when they make that choice.

“I know this group has been really important to mums in Mayfield and across Midlothian over the past 20 years and we hope that many of those who attended in the past will join us.”
