69 vie for NHS board places

DOZENS of people have applied to become board members of NHS Lothian.

Six non-executive board members will be appointed to replace those whose terms are ending. In total, 69 people have put their names forward.

Chairman man Charles Winstanley said interviews would be held next month before recommendations go to Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon

He said: “The intention will be to introduce these new people as vacancies occur and start at the end of May, right the way through to October. We will trickle them in, rather than having a ‘big bang’ moment.”
