Top marks for Capital school

SCHOOL inspectors have praised a city primary school – but have advised education chiefs to improve its accommodation.

St John's Primary in Portobello was earmarked for modernisation, but now faces a 14-year wait for refurbishment. Inspectors praised the school for its high attainment and polite, hard-working children, but said aspects of its accommodation need improved.

Head teacher Barbara Service was "delighted with the report".
