Three youths charged over Cordyce school damage

THREE youths, one only 12 years old, have been charged in connection with a vandalism attack which led to the closure of special school in Aberdeen.

A total of 47 windows were smashed at Cordyce residential school on Riverview Drive in Dyce last night, causing an estimated £10,000 worth of damage.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “Two 14 year-old males and a 12 year-old male have been reported to the relevant authority in connection with the vandalism, and also with a further vandalism caused nearby.

“As a result of the incident and the damage sustained the school has been closed today.”

Inspector Jackie Craig said: “We would appeal to anyone who may have knowledge of the incident to come forward. This was a malicious attack which has forced the school to temporarily close.”
