Students set to help local communities

Student groups say they want to continue work with local neighbourhood partnerships following the success of a November event.

The Edinburgh University Students’ Association worked with the South Central Neighbourhood Partnership on the “Students in the Community” event.

It saw students and other members of the community work together on ways of improving their local area and around 60 people attended.

In a letter to neighbourhood partnership officials, EUSA said: “EUSA is delighted with the outcomes of the event and looks forward to following the progress of the projects that will be developed.

“EUSA’s Volunteer Centre continues to help us link together students and non-students in the community by connecting groups through specific volunteering projects.

“We look forward to taking forward further work.”
