Students get tooled up for contest

TWO talented carpentry students are set to compete in the UK's largest multi-trade competition for construction trainees and apprentices.

Steven Sneddon, 18, and Stephen Gilmour, 19, have been selected to represent West Lothian College at the Scottish heats of the SkillBuild competition this week.

The two carpentry apprentices will travel to East Kilbride to compete against more than 30 fellow apprentices in a bid to win a place in the UK finals later this year.
