Sex dilemma for students

ONE in five students at Edinburgh University know of a fellow students who has worked in the sex industry, a survey has found.

The survey, carried out by the university's student newspaper, also found that 16 per cent of students polled would, or have considered taking up work as lap dancers, strippers or escorts to fund their studies.

Billie Lister, a PHD student at Stirling University, who is carrying out research on women in the Scottish lap dancing industry, said: "It stands to reason, in the current economic climate, that some people will be attracted to working in the industry."
