Science centre set to boost clinical research

DUNDEE University and NHS Tayside have combined resources to form a new venture to boost clinical research activity in the region.

The new centre – Tayside Academic Health Sciences Centre (TAHSC) – will be located at Ninewells Hospital and aims to build on the growing international reputation of Dundee and Tayside as a leading centre for innovative health research and education.

The launch of TAHSC will see both institutions working together across the field of clinical research to maximise the potential of the excellent staff and facilities we have here."

Prof Tony Wells, chief executive of NHS Tayside, welcomed the establishment of the new research base. "It will allow us to build on the excellent working relationship we have with the University of Dundee," he said.
