Science awards for pupils

CITY schools brought home a host of awards from national science and engineering competition, The Big Bang Scotland, with several selected to represent the UK.

Konrad Ciber-Kotowski from Leith Academy won a CREST Most Creative Project Award (Bronze) for his Ferrofluids project and was also awarded The Bill Bryce Trophy.

A team from George Heriot’s School was awarded a CREST Most Creative Project Award (Silver) for Forever Green Energy.

Merchiston Castle School pupils were awarded a CREST Most Creative Project (Gold) with pupil Lee Li awarded the Young Engineer for Britain Award, while Lucy Ireland, Karen Millar and Lindsay White from George Heriot’s were selected to showcase in London.
