Schools remain closed

MANY schools across Edinburgh and the Lothians remained closed today as a result of the continuing cold snap.

In the Capital, Burdiehouse, Drumbrae, Dean Park, St Cuthbert's, and St Catherine's Primary schools were closed, as was Balerno High School which will also remain shut tomorrow. Buckstone Primary only opened to P1 and P2 pupils.

Special schools including Redhall, Woodlands, Braidburn and Wellington were also closed today.

All 45 of East Lothian's primary and secondary schools closed.

Pupils in West Lothian are still on their festive break and are not due back at school until Monday.

All schools in Midlothian were expected to open today.
